• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Awesome Skid plates, radiator guards, pipe guards-More!

HUSQVNA

Husqvarna
AA Class
I purchased the red anodized aluminum skid plate, radiator guards, exhaust guard, and master cylinder protector from a gentalman who operates out of Isreal and sells his parts through E-Bay. Company name is RS Racing (I believe) and he makes a variety of parts for a variety of different motorcycles. I'm very impressed with the quality, and fit to the items I've recieved. The radiator guards went on in about 20 minutes. Same can be said for the skid plate, master cylinder guard, and exhaust guard. The aluminum is definatly not as thick as some manufacturers use, but it's proven to stand the test thanks to some pretty nasty Arizona rocks and log crossings since installed. The parts look awesome on the bike too I might add. I had an issue with a bad batch of anodizing but I can't begin to say enough good things for these guys as the problem was corrected IMMEDIATLY, and the offer made to correct the situation was way above and beyond in terms of customer service from anything I've EVER received from a supplier here in the US, and that says a lot casue I've bought a ton of stuff from some great folks over the years. That said, check these guys out if you haven't already. Great looking parts that fit right, from a company that stands behind their customers 110%

Looks to me he has contracted someone to build a few things in Vitkin Israel and the products ship directly from there.

I'm glad you are happy

We purchased this as well and I reviewed them on another forum. Here is the copy and paste...

Post 1:

Hmmm. Well initial review is mixed.

First of all, the red anodizing is not all that great. It doesn't match the oil hose at all. Its a much closer match to the fork caps. I would have gone with back, but got overruled. :)

The radiator guards fit pretty well. The aluminum is thinner than the similar Moose guards that I have on my KTM, but have three crossbars instead of 2. The holes are drilled perfectly. Once again, the red isn't as pretty as in the pictures, but you can't see it anyway. Hopefully the extra edge that OFG is referring to won't be an issue. We'll see!

We haven't fit the skid plate yet, but i'm decently happy with it...other than the off color. We might end up painting or powdercoating it later. The bottom is completely solid except for the oil drain bolt hole. My old 250X skidplate from Utah Cycle Sport was this way and we ended up drilling holes in it because it was a mud shovel. We might end up doing the same thing here. The Husky logo is pretty trick. The edges seem a bit sharp to me. I really wish someone made a plastic skidplate like I have on my KTM (hint, hint OFG :) The only other thing I notice is that the weld is not clean on the inside of the skidplate. I don't know if it will affect the strength, as it has spot welds on the inside and a nice clean weld on the outside, but it just seems like a detail that is lacking.

As for the pipe guard....we can't get it to fit and can't fathom how to make it work. I'm going to write the guy and see what he says. I'm assuming they were designed for this bike...I mean, how many left handed pipe dirtbikes are out there??

The brake guard is pretty nice, but the plastic frame guards will have to be trimmed or removed. I think i'd rather have the frame guards myself. On the plus side, its pretty universal as far as I can tell. It fit to my KTM and my 06 Husky. All of which have plastic frame guards I don't want to remove. haha.

And one last note...the shipping was extremely fast, but the packaging was pretty shoddy. All of the items were wrapped in bubble wrap, but there wasn't any other padding to keep them from banging around. Nothing was missing or messed up, though.

So, I guess i'm pretty satisfied overall. I'd definitely go with a natural or black finish if I were making that choice again. We'll see how they work in the long haul.

I'll post some pics after everything is installed...

Post 2:

OK, a little update...

It turns out it was the wrong bracket and the seller was nice to work with and sent the right bracket promptly. It was still probably the hardest part to install, though. Looks good now that its mounted, though, and covers all of the pipe up to the silencer. Hopefully no more burned legs now!

I had mentioned earlier, that the color didn't look good. Well, now that it is all mounted, it actually looks pretty neat. The items look much "redder" when on the bike.

We never did put the brake protector on. All of our bikes already have plastic brake protector/frame guard combos that would have to be cut or removed to fit the piece. I'll probably just sell this part, because it seems pretty universal.

I'll post some pictures of the whole bike now that its together.

Just got my parts back as I had them powder coated matte black, and boy do they look sharp! Had a bad batch of anodizing and the guy paid to have the skid plate & pipe guard painted. Class act, really.

Israeli you say?
Hmmmm……
Well, if it’s anything as tough as the weaponry they create it should be good

It looks good, let us know how it holds up
It sounds like they have the customer service part dialed in, that’s always a good start
