• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Awesome day of riding on the TXC 250

I took 3 Advil as a preventative measure on the way to the trails and while riding, I felt like I was 16 again! Fastest day for me in years! The TXC 250 and I are bonding quite well. It really is a better tight woods bike *for me* than the 300, but even though I can throw it around better in tight stuff, I sure do miss the rocketship blast in the wide open that the 300 provides! If only they could figure out how to blend the characteristics of both bikes... if only.

I'm waiting for the Advil to wear off to see if I start walking sideways in a hunched position.

I got some really depressing news today however, the owner of TNT in Chester, SC is hurting badly due to the economy. Her business is down 60% and she is barely hanging on. She steadfastly refuses to raise her rates because she wants to continue to cater to families and keep her rates low... but the bottom line is she could be closing any day. Sad. Very sad. What a great riding facility. And close to us. SAD.

Sadly, I'm beyond that. I'd need to take ibuprofen before, during and after....and I'm still not so sure that it would help.:oldman:

I take 3 Advil before riding so I can try to feel 46! Sometimes it helps, and sometimes there's nothing I can do to avoid feeling 66...

Sad to hear about TNT, krieg, but glad to hear you and your frisky steed are getting along famously!

First you post about hand starting your new TXC 250 (cough cough...SON's bike) and now you post about how much you love this bike and feeling 16 again like it's the fountain of youth. It was bad enough riding Jake's TXC 250, but this is pushing me over the edge of wanting a smaller bike...BAD.
