• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Chris Hollis rips********************************************************************************! Hope he pulls it off!!!

Note J.Willis-Husky on the 510 leading the battle with
Wonka(Williscroft)-KTM for the big bike class win

applause for the "older guys" Geoff Ballard still out there doing it!! He is the Jeff Fredette of OZ!!

Geoff Ballard used to be the works rider for{ Mental Block},they are still making snowmobiles, rode and did very well in the USA in the 70s and 80s,just remembered Canam, they made TnT,its been a while.

Cool for Hollis and Husky! On Geoff Ballard..... definitely the Fredette of Oz, but I'm not sure they appreciate him. A couple of years ago he qualified for Six Days, but I think they blocked his entry. Maybe the blokes can fill us in?

I am sure he has won lots of gold medals in 6days over the years, there was a story about 10years ago about him riding a restored Maico in one of the European 6days,I think he made it to day 4 or so before it died, the over 40s class in the OZ 4 day is choca with still supa fast older blokes.I saw him ride a stadium endro event in Tamworth once,
he was top of the heap then

His son is taking up where dad is still treading. He is very talll and throws the bike around with ease. Used to be funny to see him and John Martin on the Can Ams back in the mid 80's as Martin is even shorter than Merriman.

Hollis finished 3rd outright!
Jehi won his class on the 510 - Whooo Hooo.

Ballard Won the vets class - yes he is a living legend of the sport in Oz!
