• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Arrow Twin Exhaust For SMS 630

I am a new proud owner of a 2011 630 SMS. After many hours on Cafe Husky I have decided on the Husqvarna Twin Arrow Titanium Exhaust system. My decision is based on the appearance only and the sound clips on Youtube.

My question is who has purchased these and what did you pay? The part number is 8000H2469. I plan on ordering these next week and am trying not to pay more than I should .

As mentioned in the other thread, I paid the list price and got the package through the local importer Zupin. But am sure it´d be cheaper direct from Arrow (take a look in their web site)

I'm pretty sure it's worth getting eth ECU from what I read elaswhere - especially having done the resistor/plug power up...

I just put the Husky Parts catalogue Arrow pipes (+ECU) on my TE630. Cured all the things I disliked about the bike (including occasional stalling when stopping) and really makes it scream! The throttle on/off response is a lot smoother. Even the dealer was impressed and ordered another pipe for their parts department. The only drawback is its a little to pretty for an off-road bike (not a problem for your SM). Lastly, the tone is a little loud at freeway speeds and would recommend ear plugs for extended riding (my ears were ringing after 15 mins). However the sound is soooo sweet and its just loud enough to make car alarms chirp when driving by but not enough to piss off my neighbors with my comings and goings. In regard to price, I negotiated it to be sold at cost with my TE630 purchase and had them install it for free. Cost was $998.05 ($1,341.75 Retail)

pete SD,
Thanks! Based on the few videos on Youtube they really do have a great sound and as you said they will probably look good on a SMS. I will check with my dealer on his best price and make my decision this week. Thanks again !

Another important reason for going for the twin Arrows (apart from getting the new EFI that comes as part of the kit) is that they´re road legal here in Europe. Don´t think they´re really louder. Just different. The Husky Special Parts list has carbon heat protectors that look a lot better than the expanse of silver metal on the original.

Oh yes, they are louder, especially if you do NOT install the DB killers. :) Installed twin Arrows, removed the "lambda sonde" ( Norwegian word ) and installed the new EFI. A whole new bike all together, the price was worth it.

I kept the Lamda in and just tied the lead to the frame under the saddle ... just in case I´m stopped by the environmental state security gestapo.

That'll ruin the lambda, but at least it'll LOOK like it works, haha.
The heater in the "lambda" is only in there to get the sensor up to operating temp, leaving it in won't ruin it, just maybe foul it because of the rich mixtures, but it can be cleaned up.

After removing the lambda, a "diode" is plugged into the lambda contact to fool the system to beleive its still there, and with a new EFI the whole character of the engine is different, more responsive and still smoother.. :D

actually, it is a resistor, but I was saying you can leave the sensor in the bike unplugged, no harm, some "foul":D

yep, it`s a resistor - my fault for not using correct word for it.. For what I have been told, it`s a necessity for making the EFI brain think it`s still there. The new EFI brain is said to richen the fuel mixture as to compensate for more exhaust flow, so now I am wondering about letting more air IN to the engine..

organ donor and others outside the U.S., I think there may be different Arrow pipes with modified internal baffles designed for use in other countries. Otherwise you guys may have trouble hearing well :o. The twin Arrow pipes I had were a straight through design (I could see right through with no obstruction) with no form of spark arrestor. I cannot figure out how anyone who owns theses pipes can say they are not loud or sound similar to the stock cat equiped restrictive cans. The twin Arrow pipes are VERY loud in comparison to the stock cans. It is a night and day difference plain and simple. I'm not judging if that is good or bad thing, just stating the obvious based on what my own ears heard!

Correct, and thats why I use earplugs inside the helmet...

Berlin traffic and the German regulatory authorities are not known for being lenient on offenders and the twin Arrows are legal and the cans are stamped to prove legality. So, who am I to argue whether they´re too loud or not? Personally, my impression is that they sound a bit deeper than the standard cans ... but not necessarily louder.

Organ Doner, you must have different oem cans then we do in the states. Something just does not add up here. The Arrow pipes I had were undeniably louder than the stock ones. It has to be a Euro vs. U.S. model difference. Otherwise I'm puzzled...
