  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Are the replcaement wheel bearings nowadays cheaper?

i used to live in the uk for a while- every practice track had a pressure washer and u could wash the bike straight after u ride. therefore u don't had to get to close to the bearings to get the bike cleaned up properly.
Now- i m a busy house owner in sunny germany and i might have a chance to get my bike washed up ever other week after practice i have the problem the dirt gets hard... lot more pressure been needed to get the bike shine as new.
That might be another problem...

Hi there. Are the OEM bearings from a Husky dealer of a good quality or does it pay to source brgs. from SKF etc? Or are they the same item? If brgs ok say steering, swingarm can i remove brgs. without damaging them and re pack them? Belray grease difficult to source, any good alternatives you recommend from the likes of Castrol, Shell etc?
Is there a cross reference for husky brgs. or OEM all I need? Thanks in advance. DD

bel ray grease is all over ebay, or any of the big internet places...mc superstore etc. im sure there other good greases tho. maybe something that says "marine" is good for water resistance. the oem bearings are usually great quality but expensive, or unavailable, so it can pay to find the number and look up the equivalent from nachi, toyo, skf, timken, etc

make you life easier, pre-soak it, if 2 layers wash off the 1st then wait for the water to soak in and the 2nd one comes off without so much work and pressure especially around the seal areas

is this US only?????
it was written as the 1st example in the Husqvarna factory bulletins, not the grease but Bel-Ray itself
seeing that i assumed it was worldwide
it is the staple item for work at my place, use it to protect aluminum threaded areas from corrosion freezing and all bearings and surfaces i don't want corroding
