• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Aqualine to the rescue?

Got an email from Aqualine in Australia saying they "definately" are coming out with a larger fuel tank for the injected 610's. They say they will have more info in May. :applause:

It would probably be a good idea to send them an email and let them know if you are interested in a larger fuel tank for the 610ie.

Anyway-it was good news to mine ears. Sure hope they put the fuel way down low and use the fuel pump to an advantage. No idea what size or cost or anything like that.

Given that Acerbis and IMS and Clark have all turned down the idea of a larger tank, and given the 610 is the premier dual sport bike on earth, well, i think Aqualine is gonna be surprised by demand.

Send them an email!!

Just got a reply from Aqualine;

Thank you for your enquiry, we are going to be making a tank to suit the TE610 in 2009 it is planned to be about 23 liters but at this stage we do not much more information that we can give you. Feel free to contact us in a couple of months for an update or keep an eye on our web site for news on the up coming tanks.

I got this today:

"Thank you for your enquiry, we do not have one available yet but we are
going to be making one latter in the year, it is planned to be about 24
liters, if you want to contact us again towards the end of May we should
have a lot more information."

I was at the Husky Dealer here today and was told that there is 20 liter tank out right now for the FI 610TE. :excuseme:

Ummmm, yeah. Thats cool. Did he happen to mention who makes that 20 litre tank, or where one could get one?

I will ask.

I thought it was strange too. I figured that I would of found out about a new tank right here first on this site. I did question him and ask if it was for a 08 610TE. He said yes.

I cant help but think its the 5 gallon IMS tank for the non-EFI 610 he is thinking about.

But--who knows.

IMS, Clark, Acerbis have all said they wont make a tank for the '08-'09 TE610Fi bikes. :excuseme:

Well I just called. The Tank is IMS and it's 4.5 gallons. Right now they can only get clear tanks. (That could be 4.5 Imp gallons.)

If thats the case, thats big news for sure. Lots of guys would love a 4.5 gallon tank for the EFI bikes. I will still hold out for the 6 gallon Aqualine, but its great IF in fact IMS has a tank! (not doubting you, just surprised)

Thanks for taking the time to call them and find out the info. :)

No problem, I just hope that the infor is correct. It's what the Dealer told me. Again I asked is it for an 08 610TE with FI.

;) IS THE SMR610 THE SAME? Am I invisible or do you all just pass me up because I am an A-hole? :busted::lol::busted:

See post #11

You are fading in and out. I can't see you... :D

I have no idea if it's the same as the SMR610. I have never seen an 08 SMR610 next to an 08 610TE to know if they have the same tank.:excuseme:

I would think that they are the same tanks, but????

Hello Palmer84one:

According to the 2008 Parts Catalog the 610 SM uses the same tank as the TE610, or at least they don't show a different part number.

Thanks guys, I am only asking because 1) I will soon be the owner of a 08 SMR610 2) I am to lazy to look up Parts Catalogs to see if they are, Thanks Howard70 :D That's what my face will look like for the rest of my life. :D OK it's late I gotta get some sleep if I can.
