• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Anyone ride a TE250

I have the TC250 so I would venture to say that it is going to have a more aggressive hit than the 300. The 6 speed gearbox would be awesome for the more technical riding. I highly doubt there being any regret!

I purchased a 2015 TE250 a few weeks ago. So far, so good although I only have about 50 miles on it. Fits me like a glove. Absolutely "No regrets". Just go for it.

i havent made up my mind.... mostly because of price.... been looking for a 250 or 300.... but 9 grand is steep... lol all my buddies with 300s love themso cant see any difference in a 250

The good: engine has perfect torque curve for trail-enduro work. E start. rear suspension is great, you can adjust it to get the seat height down (along with raising forks) and still have a great handling bike (something you can't do with a PDS bike). The bike came jetted right on from the factory - a first.
The not-so-good: The forks take hours to break in and you really need to put on your thinking cap to get the suspension dialed in, but once that's done, it works well.
My bike had a flat after a hour or so...turns out they mis-installed the rim protector and the spoke nipples punctured the tube. I also have a clutch master cyl that has leaked since day one. Neither is a biggy, but c'mon, for the price? Also, for some reason KTM doesn't provide a spark arrestor with these bikes.
All in all, a great all-round dirt bike IMO.

Absolutely in love with my 14 TE250.. but a few opinions:

-300 is easier to get used to if your coming from 4 strokes..

-If you got tighter trails go with 250, got more wide open trails go 300.. if you got sand whoops... think an XC is a better choice.

In a word "YES". I ride mostly south jersey single track mixed with sand, roots and a few dirt roads thrown in. I find the power to be just right and predictable. I am very happy with the whole package.

I've owned 3 KTM 300s and 1 KTM 200. 200 a bit too weak (I weigh 195 lbs); the 300s have a bit too much grunt and vibration (I'm 55 years young). I bought a 2015 Husky TE 250 and it fits just right for me. I've only ridden on my property on a 4-mile loop. Jumped a lot of logs. Sandy turns. It feels very good. No complaints about 4CS forks either. I've already adjusted the power valve for more hit. But that's why I like 2-strokes...the hit!
