• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone on a TM?

It's been awhile since my last login on here. I sold my 09 wr250 last year in January and sold my wr144 in December. Bought a 13 crf450r in January last year after selling my wr250 and raced it last season and the first on this season. Ended up selling the Honda in April and bought a 16 Tm 300en! Man what an awesome bike!

Good effort, must admit I'm hankering after a TM still but spares are the only worry for me.
As they truly are an exotic small production machine.

My work mate and his dad were the Australian importers. He's since sold the business but loves his 165 and is a TM loyalist and knows tonnes about them. It's a fast little thing, he out runs me on the tight stuff. The 300 must be a weapon

They make a 144, but they stroke it instead of just opening up the bore... which gives the option of opening up the bore for more cc's.

I need more power to beat the 450's, so right now I'm debating whether to go 165 with my 2011 CR150, 2016/17 KTM 150, or a TM 144.

Wonder how big u cn go in the TMs? Channeling Walt. En144 isn't ADR compliant here tho which would hurt it's sales

We added TM to our dealership this spring to go along with the Betas, and they are selling surprisingly well.
They are very light, great suspension, more linear power than they used to be, and parts are no issue.
I think they are becoming a pretty attractive option. Other manufactures keep raising there prices, so TM is no longer that much more expensive.

Yep I think its a 144. It makes alot of peak power, he's not a big guy and is an ex Enduro champ. Out rides me like it's a CR500

You're not wrong. For a 450cc Jap Enduro you're talking up to and over $13 or $14k AUD, for an Orange European you can pay more! Certainly makes the TM, Betas and Shercos more appealing

That's great news and just across the mountain from me too

so far parts have not been an issue. I busted my clutch slave cyclinder one Sunday and had a new one at my door on Wednesday in time to get to ride that evening at the local track.

I live around 2hrs away from Knox Enduro (water racer). My dad and I took a trip to Knox Enduro to check out a beta 350, they had just got the Tm couple days before I came. I came back a few days later and bought the 300 and loaded her in the truck and have been happy ever since. Gary and his wife at Knox Enduro are awesome to deal with! I'd love to be able to pick up a small bore 144/250f Tm in the future! The 300 is probably the best bike I've ever ridden and I've had a chance to ride quite a few bikes lol. Unlike most other bikes the TM came with grease on all the bearings steering head, swing arm, linkage, wheels etc... I took it apart to grease everything like you had to do with the huskys and to my surprise it had plenty on grease on everything! Tm does not skimp on the bikes they build! The engine is super easy to ride fast I'm not sure if any stock 450s would out run it on a take off and overall top speed I know my Honda wouldn't hold a candle to the 300 power wise. Also the vibration is next to none on this bike think 125 vibrating. Suspension is awesome I've not did anything with it except clickers and have been on tracks from tight technical enduros to fast harescramble style tracks with a Loretta Lynn's mx qualifier track during the race and the suspension soaked up every bit of it. It does like the fuel though in racing conditions about 30 miles and you need to fill up to finish the race. Overall this is the best bike I've every had and would recommend a Tm to anyone.

I think you might be the guy that bought my 150 back in the winter. How are you liking the bike with the 165 kit on it?

Hey, that might be me. I picked it up in a farm truck  It's doing great as a 165, possibly the most fun ever on 2 wheels...so far.

Good write up!
I am hoping to get one for myself soon, maybe a 144 or 250F, I already have a Beta 350 and AJP 250 as demo bikes, I need to sell one of those, I don't want to be like a bartender drinking up the profits! Everyone says the 144's are awesome. We have a 250EN coming for a customer next week, looking forward to trying it out.
