• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone near/in Bergen county NJ?

I'm in Tenafly NJ and just bought a TE310. i would like to connect with other guys in my area who ride together as i'm not familiar with places to ride, people to ride with etc.
Cheers

I wonder if we ought to set up a cafe husky NJ ride day. I know a good variety of legal jeep roads and sand roads and doubletrack down in the Hammonton area.

may as well meet up at Atison ranger station on rt. 206. I would be in.

Yeah, that is a good starting place. I have a good 50-60 mile loop out of there that has a variety of stuff on it. All bikes must be plated. No real singletrack (not legal), but there are some good "roads" that aren't used much and are good fun.

Yep.

I rode 32 miles few days ago and was exhausted. Lost front in the whoops and did awesome front flip, too bad nobody had camera...

Need more practice before I can ride 70 miles.

Nah, you'll be fine. A decent bit of those miles are faster dirt roads, easy-peasey. There are some whoops but for the most part I stay away from them if I can. We've done the loop in like 3-4 hours.

Now, if you want to do some damage, I know another spot where I can take you through 30 miles of deep sand whoops, and then some singletrack so tight your bars won't fit through with the wheel straight. That'll get your heart rate up! :D

We go to lost trails a couple of times during the summer , and split into 2 groups .

Fast /young /racers
Slow/old / cautious Group I ride with

Also ride with a couple of older guys in a couple of dual sport events per year . If you are interested
