  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc Anyone making a 300 pipe yet?

PC.

Husqvarna
AA Class
My OEM pipe is hurtin' for certain. About to go in for dent removal process #2. Hopefully it lasts until the end of summer.

Any word on a 300 pipe?
Will the 250 pipe fit? I know they're different, but that doesn't mean it wont work.

I have been told that PC built a special pipe for Glen Kearneys 300, but I am starting to call BS on that rumour. I bet an FMF Gnarly for a WR250 would work just fine.

KTM 250/300 and GG 250/300 share the same pipe.

My buddy in Beaverton has three WR250 pipes (PC, 2C, stock). Bet he would let you try one before plopping down the money for it.

You guys are too good:thumbsup:

My pipe is still kicking, but I fear its days are numbered and I dont want to spend a fortune on an OEM pipe.

I'm ready willing and able. You guys know how to get a hold of me

EFR boys trip weekend of June 12th. Got at least 15 confirmed and it will be epic. Invite is open

pipe

i would call pc and ask, a 20% increase in displacement would warrant a new pipe. 200's aren't using the same pipe as a 125...:D:D wouldn't hurt to ask.

But the 125 and 200 have a different stroke. I wonder if the pipe is tuned more for the stroke and that is why many 250/300 pipes are the same? Does the stock 300 pipe have a different part # than the 250 one?

There was just a big fire int he area, might want to check that everything is open. BTW rode there a week and a half ago and it is already VERY dusty.

This subject gets brought up a lot on the TT yami 2 stroke forum. I've got a mildly ported 285 jug on my YZ and I run an OEM pipe. It works just fine IMO. I'm sure the power can be altered with a different pipe, but I dont think peak numbers will change much. Or I could be completely wrong. Since no one makes a 285 pipe I'll never know.

I would imagine the same goes for the 300. A 250 pipe works fine on my 285 and I would guess a 250 pipe would also work on a 293cc Husky motor.

I'd like to try anyway..... even if it changes the power delivery, I might like it.

I'll go out and look for a p/n stamped on the pipe in a bit.

The 300 pipe looks smaller than the 250 pipe in my eyes. This is what is making me think an FMF pipe from a 250 will work just fine.

The 300 uses a CRD pipe that is built for Husqvarna.

pipe

20 % increase in volume -displacement is a lot on a 2 stroke. example, is the pipe on a 200 ktm the same as a 250.. nope... when in doubt, pick up the phone and call pro circut. they still do custom pipes. or yours could be the development mule... for a discount. never hurts to ask. :excuseme::excuseme:
