• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone interested in Husky swingarm axle sliders?

Husqvarna
AA Class
Ross Shafer has generously offered to make another run of his axle block sliders if there is enough interest. He needs 20 on the pre order to get this going. I'm first in line and have my deposit in :D I figured I had better get the word out if I wanted a chance to have a set for myself.

Ross Shafer at Cafe Husky said:
if I recall correctly they fit most all Husky 4 strokes from 2001 to 2012. To check and see if they fit a particular year/model go to Halls Husqvarna's website (http://www.halls-cycles.com/default.asp?page=catalogs) you can access all the different part catalogs. If the axle blocks for your year/model have these part numbers (left axle block part# is 8000 96941 and the right is 8000 96944) you're good to go.

I'll start another batch once I have orders and deposits for 20 sets. The price will be $105 per set for pre-orders and $120 after that (shipping within the USA is included in the price). Yes, it's higher than last time, but so is everything else. To pre-order, contact me directly (no pm's please) at scoboniATcomcastDOTnet. A $50 deposit will be required. The deposit is non-refundable, however should I bail on making them for some reason, or it takes more than 6 months to get 20 pre-orders from the time I receive the first pre-order/deposit, I will issue refunds.

I only made these to begin with because I wanted some of SME's, but they'd been discontinued. While they are not exact copies at all, the concept is the same and the fact that the folks at SME are just plain great folk, I voluntarily pay them a $10 per set royalty. When I was deep in the heart of the high end bicycle manufacturing biz (Salsa Cycles), I had my designs copied so many times with no permission or acknowledgment...recognizing SME's efforts and patented design just seems like the right thing to do.

*I'll keep a running total of confirmed deposits here - 8 preorders in
12 to go.......

A couple of pictures from the first run.

Well we're only up to 4 confirmed at the moment. If your on the fence about these go ahead and jump in :) it's not too often we get bling this nice just for our huskys so take advantage while you can.......

That's great motorcade! Be sure to email Ross and set up the pre order payment, and be sure to share.

You'll make 25% of the way there!

I'm in! Is this the official "put me on the list thread"?

Yes, Kinda. Expressing interest is good. But the only way to make it happen is to email Ross and paypal him a preorder deposit.

His email is scoboniATcomcastDOTnet

and it takes a $50 commitment to get this rolling. We've had a few people chime in with interest that haven't followed through with that part of it yet........

I copied and pasted his e-mail but showed an error when I sent it (probably operator error). Can you send his e-mail again please? I want these!!

Looks like we're up to 25% preordered with 2-3 more in the pipeline........... please get the word out if you know anyone who could use these.

Are we still only at 6 for these?
Supermoto Junkie has the info now due to vender rules here I believe. Ross still only has 6 orders in with mine being the last one. Haven't seen a nicer set of sliders so I'm hoping for 16 more pre orders.

Yeah, supposedly at least two vendors here complained. I'd love to know who since I feel this all but killed an already dubious proposition. Quite frustrated about this actually.

"all but killed" - if this is actually dead, I'd like my money back. If it's not dead, and will be proceeding, (please!) then let's get it rolling. Having done this myself in the past - (for alfa romeo parts) I only had 5 committed orders - went ahead and ran 15 units, and ended up selling them all. People are generally more willing to put their money down once the product is built and in people's hands.
