• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone in/near North Carolina?

Just bought a '12 te 310 from Europort in Asheville. Looking forward to exploring fire roads and easier trails to get used to this bike. Anyone have any suggestions on places they have liked near Johnson City, and western NC ?

Being in Asheville we have alot around....you can spend hours exploring in bentcreek/millsriver area fireroads. I haven't gone outside of that area but know there are a ton around.

Thanks, had not thought of bent creek area. I look forward to riding in that area and in East TN.

The new Mountain City, TN ORV on nearby Doe Mtn officially opening this May sounds like it will be a great addition to the area........8600 acres......100 miles of trails.
There's another thread on Getting Together forum keeping up with it's development.

I'm in Rutherfordton, NC. I like to ride at Brown Mountain and Brushy Mountain. Both are good places, but I think Brushy is the best.

It's funny you say that. I love older homes myself. My wife and I have been steadily working on ours for the last 4 years.

I'll have to see it some day.

Is the 511 your first Husky? The 610 is mine and I love it.........even though I'm entertaining trying to find either a 450/510 or 449/511 as an addition. I'll see how trail riding the 610 goes this season

Yeah, the 511 is my first Husky. I've mostly been a Honda guy when it came to off road bikes. I just got to the point where I really wanted a bike that was plated and the Euro manufacturers were the only ones building a serious bike. I saw the 449/511 platform and fell in love with the lines. I picked this one up used last fall and have been riding as much as the weather has allowed. So far I'm really enjoying the bike. It did take some getting used to and I had to get the setup right, but I think I've got it dialed in pretty well now. I use it mostly as a dirt bike. I think the 610 would be an awesome ride as well, but since I mainly ride in the woods I felt it might be a bit too big. It's probably a lot more street worthy though.

I am about to pick up my first dual-sport. It will be the Strada. Thanks to Justin and his team at Eurosport in Asheville. I live in Brevard right on the edge of Pisgah Forest!

Congrats! I've been staring down the Terra's there as well. Looks like a really cool bike. I may have to take a test ride.

I'm in Greensboro and recently picked up a new TE511. Not really anywhere that I know of to ride in an hour or so radius but I'm up for traveling.

Let us, "Hindenburg Motorcycle Club", know when you are to pick it up! We are in Brevard and can ride up to go for an inaugural ride with you!
Will do! I'm so excited I can't sit still! I wish customs would hurry up and let them ship.

Today was Greenville, SC and back. Stopped for another waterfall. My buddy next says they only count if the bike is in the pic. I say bahhh! image.jpg

Plan on taking the 511 to Brushy Mountain park this Friday (6/21) weather permitting. If anyone wants to come, I'll be the guy on a Husky!
