• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Any sightings yet?

Haha! I am hoping to find a clean and cheap way to do it. On the ZX-10R, it was just a matter of taking off 4 bolts and re-arranging some of the hardware into a license plate bracket. You lost the license plate light in the process, but eh, who cares. I never got hassled for it. I don't even think turn signals and mirrors are required in this state.

For what it's worth, I really like riding a DS on the road. They are perfect for urban combat and eat up twisty back roads! I had a DR650 for about a year and a half and put 18,000 miles on it before I cased it on a big rock and drove a mounting bolt for the skid plate through the sump. I then got a DRZ400 and put 6,000 miles on it. Last year, I went to Peru and rode all over the country on an old XR600. Comfortable ergos, good ride, nimble handling. They may well be the most versatile motorcycle that you can own. I suspect that I will love this new 630 and may have to have one!

Checked out one at my local dealer last week as it was being prepped in the back. Now I have to figure out a way to fanagle a ride:thumbsup: The bike looks really good, much better than the pictures on the interwebz.

they have more motor than the 610 for sure.they did a nice job with the seat, radiator shrouds and the gas tank.was surprised how smooth the motor pulls.when a Loe Vince can be had this bike will run crazy strong.would be a good Baja machine!dan

I wonder if that seat is actually usable?

I hope so!

:oldman:What doesn't kill you will make you stronger... Actually, I would be going crazy too! I hope that once you get it the weather is nice and you can enjoy it. Otherwise you'll be sitting on it in the garage making vroom vroom sounds.

I'm sitting here without a bike, waiting for my 630. The wait is driving me insane. :banghead:

I want...

Eventually I may get a SM setup for mine. I figure for now, I'd rather ride the dirt model on the street than the street model in the dirt.

Good call because the TE is EZer to convert to street than the SM to dirt because of the front brake setup.

That's what I hear, and a big part of why I went with the TE vs the SM.

Complete Edge II LED tail light assembly from Sicass racing.
On my bike I only used the light itself, so if you want just the plate bracket, let me know & it's yours

Ahhhh so far so good. Keep the reports coming guys, this looks and sounds like the goods.

Awesome, thanks! I'll let you know.

Any idea if the stock lighting will bolt up to that thing? Does the whole stock assembly just bolt to the subframe?

How about some maintenance intervals from the TE630 owners manual from those that have the bike at their dealership?
