  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All the hoopla has been for the new 310. The 250 sounds like it was significantly improved but I cannot find much info on it.

If you are referring to the 110th anniversary versions, they have upgraded starter parts, closed chamber forks and new graphics.

The 250s dont get much notice, but I think they are a screaming bargain.....like you said, they are languishing ..... for lack of a few HP and a torque shortage? Its still the same excellent chassis that everyone on the planet loves.

I have a te250r in Aust, which I think in performance is the same as the TXC you have over there. The forks are different im sure.
Ive had it about 3 mths and done over 40 hrs, with no real issues (battery came out of holder last ride, forcing one terminal off)
My last bike was a wr300 2010, so was going to buy the 310 but the 250 was $2000 cheaper, I really thought the lack of power was going to be a problem. But was surprised how quick it was in the bush and handles way better than the WR.
I ride with 300 2 stk, 400-500 4stk and have no probs keeping up and even blowing past outa and into corners. But realistically once into about 5 gear they will pull away. Till the next corner that is :D
I really like this bike, haven't riddin a 310 yet to compare with is next on my list.
Ive had no issues with starting or the FI, no flameouts to speak of. Just do airfilter everyride and oil every 5hrs, filter 10hrs.
Anyway for the trails and riding I do this bike is great. And I love overtaking blokes on bigger bikes coming out of corners this thing just puts the power down real good.

You could just look at the reviews for the TC250 with the read head. The difference is probably more plush suspension and the e-start. If I remember right the txc has a 6 speed and the TC has a 5 speed. You'd have to check Husky website for that though.
