• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Got another killer product from Atomic Moto, the Klim hydration pack. After ripping my camelback in half not ducking far enough under a tree I needed a new one. I LOVE the Klim pants i got for Atomic Moto so I was happy to see a Klim hydration pack on their site now. It arrived a few weeks ago and I have been using it a lot. When i first opened it up I was a bit confused at all the buckles and design. After using it I love it.

Notable features:

- the shoulder straps mount to a pivot and then to the bag making the bag kind of float. This makes the bag, even fully equipped feel light on the shoulders, a very good design

- Tool pouch removes from the bag completely. At fist i thought this was silly but in use it works very well.

- Nice generous sized pockets / enclosures. Carries everything i need for an all day pack.

- Very nice bladder. Big opening, EZ to access and clean / fill. Nice insulated hose and very nice mouthpiece.

- chest and waist strap keep the bag from moving around

- Air channel on the rear so your back does not get really hot.

- Overall quality.

I have 2 sets of the Klim pants and now this and I must say I am quickly becoming a fan of Klim stuff.

Sounds great, any idea who makes the bladder? Is it the Camel Back bladder or does it look like it might be?

I ended up repalcing mine with a MSR Hydromedary bladder made of Cordura and it has held up great. I've been through 3 Cammelback bladders and they never failed to start leaking when I least expected them too.

Kelly,
Are you ready to kick that off the cliff? From the report you like it; from the photo you are not sharing all the wonderful futures. Close ups please!
