  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I bought this FE250 in October 2014 as a New leftover for $6600.00. With the 2 grand I saved over the 2015 I added a FMF pipe, Olbie link guard, Enduro Engineering components, custom decals from Decal Works, Acerbis plastic and am sending the fork and shock to Krefts the second week of March. The 2014 will be a much better bike than the 2015(stock) for the same price. Never underestimate the value of the New Leftover. My riding club is all KTM, the American Husky should draw some comments. Yeah, I know it is a KTM. See attached pictures.

I saw your thread on ktmtalk. Looks good. Mine is getting tattered so a mid summer spruce up might be nice.

Different lower triple clamp and different head light mask On the 2015 but there must be an adapter available.

I took the light of to save weight as I do not ride at night. You do not need to spend $80.00 on a mounting plate to use the MX plate.
Remove light assembly and fender brace. Bolt the mx plate at top, there is a threaded hole in the top triple clamp. This will leave the two prongs at the fender and mx plate. Zip tie the two together.
You do not have to remove the forks as seen in picture, I sent the forks to Kreft.Winter15 041004.jpgWinter15 035002.jpgWinter15 036003.jpg
The mx plate is not going anywhere and will cost 1 bolt and 2 zip ties. You may think this is cobbed but it will work just fine. Spend the $80.00 on something else like a good front tire

You forgot to mention the grand or so you saved by not having the new 2015 forks to fix.

Looks nice!

We added a FMF Mega Bomb system and works really well. More response and power everywhere. Personally I never bought into a slip-on since most motors need the header for any real gain outside of reducing heat.

Per Weantright, the pipe adds power across the band. The problem is, it is very loud. I run the quiet insert with the spark arrester and the power is the slightly less but more than stock. I have the TPS set at .63. Is it worth the $350.00?
To me it was. I can't justify the $370.00 for the header pipe.

We run the quiet/SA insert and it is louder than stock but not offensive. Then again the kid riding it isn't on the limiter! TPS set at .64 and running stock mapping.

I was just reviewing this thread and have since added the mega bomb header. I was wrong. Worth every penny. Big low end improvement. I have ridden this bike for two years and it is the best 4t woods bike I have ever ridden.

Very impressive for a 250f, I might get one for myself. If needing more power I was told full race mapping and more open air box, results are much much better. I just do see the need yet.

My belief is these after market exhaust companies design the system for both header and muffler. Doing one may be better over stock but both are a must for the most gain/power delivery.

I am going to do something with the mapping before spring. So much stuff out there. What would you suggest. I want a little more low end and mid. I am ok with the power now but I have ridden my brothers 2015 Fe 350 and want just a little more.
