  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Amazing Goop

last year i got a ims tank and glued the tank shrouds using amazing automotive goop. the shrouds have been holding up great, showing no signs of coming off. what are not doing great are the graphics that came on the shrouds. i already replaced them once and the new pair doesn't seem to want to stick in certain places. most likely caused by poor prep work no doubt. so i was thinking of getting a set of plastics from a 2010 te because the graphics are imbedded into the plastic.
so my question is for those of you who have used the amazing goop to attach the shrouds. how hard was it to remove the shrouds to replace them with new ones?

Get a set of graphics from LR Designs ask for Rachel and tell her what you need
they are beautiful and they dont come off

i'll check them out but i'm still wondering if anyone has tried taking the gooped on plastics off?

i've never glued shrouds to a tank but... one trick i tried lately for new graphics that kept coming up in certain curved areas was to apply a little Renthal grip glue to both surfaces. let dry for a few seconds then push the two together. hasn't come up yet!

i was installing new grips and that glue would dry so damn fast and sticky that it struck me... this stuff would be great for the edges of graphics.
