• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Rumor is that Kamo's bike dropped dead of an electrical glitch.... Bummer. Not sure about Burson though.

Bummer for sure ... They are both on the new bikes? Maybe the lack of testing prior to the season is continuing to be the contributing factor here ..

maybe, perhaps, at least one of the bikes did not have any issues at all, until after it and it's pilot flew off into an unseen very deep ravine and got dnf damaged from the impact(s).

This quoted from Mark Kariya's photo report, in ref to the other ZTR machine

"It wasn't DK's weekend. After finishing one spot out of the money on Saturday at the Adelanto GP, he DNFed his second straight National, this time with a clutch issue."

Sounds like they will have another busy week in preparation for this weekend ... The ravine jumper...Is he OK?

Yes Nick Burson is OK. At first we thought his year was over and he had sustain serious shoulder injury but he is able to move his arm and shoulder today with very little pain. Two to three miles past the bomb Nick was racing off the mark course due to a bad start and there was a hugh ditch which ran across the course. Nick tried to clear it but where he encounter the ditch it was really wide with a 4 to 6 foot face on the other side and he cased the other side and was thrown off the bike and the bike proceeded to plant him into the ground. David Kamo bike experienced a mechanical problem and he was forced to quit after the finishing the first loop.

We have had a horrible start to this years racing season and are frustrated because the bike is way better than our finishes. Nick and David have been training really hard and riding a bunch and are wanting better results to show how good the bike is. It's coming our luck got to change. Nick and Cory are going to do the Western hare scrambles this weekend. This could be Nick's break out weekend. Thanks for all the support you guys have given us.
