• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Yeah I think it's odd too but I guess they figure they still have some 449/511's.

Not very many, and the Strada/Terras are running low too for the Adventure part of the series (sponsored by Yamaha).

As a marketing move, it makes little sense to sponsor a Dualsport series if you arent going to market Dualsport bikes.
Maybe this is a good sign that they DO intend to offer DS bikes soon.

Also, they are The Pioneers of Motocross, but sponsor no MX series or team in the US.

Right hand, meet left hand :-)

In some states, like Colorado, you don't need a 'Factory' Dual Sport.

For an OHV Motorcycle to be ‘street legal’ and Registered in Colorado it must be inspected by the local Sheriff and have:
  • Working Headlight
  • Taillight
  • Brake Light
  • Electric Horn
  • DOT Tires
  • Mirror (1)
  • Registration fees and Taxes paid
  • Turn Signals are NOT required

You could make a motorcycle like this 2014 FE 350 street legal in Colorado no problem.

Chaffee County, Colorado should truly be called a ‘Mecca’ for off-road motorcyclist’s.
The Arkansas River starts to the North in Leadville and 'exits' the Rocky Mountains to
the East through Salida, which means ‘Exit’ in Spanish.
There are more 14 thousand foot peaks in Chaffee County than in any other County
in the Continental U.S.
The Continental Divide runs through the Western part of the County and the Rio Grande
River watershed is the Southern boundary. There are hundreds of miles of old mining
roads, railroad right of ways and singletrack trails in the area. Plus one of the only
portions of the Continental Divide trail open to motorcycles.
mecca – noun
A place that is regarded as the center of an activity or interest.
A goal to which adherents of a religious faith or practice fervently aspire.

Big Woods in Wabeno is this weekend. I'm jacked for it too! Weather looks awesome and the 501 is ready to rip the trails a new one.
