• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

aluminum radiators

mine have never had that stuff but I run a bead of silicon around the deflectors edge to stop them rubbing thru the rad tubes which they will do

Those chinese radiators look like a good deal (but, as had been reported many times before, those are terrible looking welds).

Surprisingly not as bad looking as I thought they would be, though. Especially when you consider it's aluminum welding.

A lot better than I can do! :excuseme: (that's my welding table they're laying on)

Thanks for solving THAT mystery! I was wondering why there was blue silicon at the top/bottom of the original radiator units. I'll do that.

sorry about the confusion, I meant,, what's wrong with the stock radiators??

No worries... the left one had the top front mounting point torn off and the right one had a break in the outer frame at the bottom (see below). One more hit on that one and it would have failed. I've kept them in case I ever get any good at welding Aluminium.

every liquid cooled Husky I own had at least one radiator looked like that. I just weld em up til they break again.

I wound up buying a good used set on ebay. The mounting brackets looked pretty light on the aluminum ones.

Well those hoses definitely don't fit the 06 610, but the radiators might. I'm skeptical though b/c most other adds don't list the 06 610 as a proper fit. Thanks for the links though.

I got the Winner Racing ones for my 87 430. On the right side one, the top mounting tab came loose after about 150 miles, no crashes just riding. So now I need to get that fixed. :(
