  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Aluminum Gas Cap

I feel like a kid..."Are we there yet?" Is it ready yet?

I'll just try to enjoy the anticipation. Once I finally get it, the joy of anticipation is gone!

I believe the txc250 uses the standard husky cap which is quite common. Our cap project is for the 449

I got tired of waiting a couple months ago and ordered the Husky hard parts one. It was out of stock of course, but three weeks later it arrived. Looks and works great!

Tinken did you get an update on Monday? Been riding lately when the weather allows and every time I have to gas her up I curse the dam thing and think about trading it in! Definitely in dire need.

Just tell Ty as usual you have created enough interest to sell the first production run.
Hahaha. They are already in production.
Ty texted me today and said "Hey, your 310 parts just came in" I texted back and said " Cool! I'm in the hospital and if I live, I'll come get the parts" :D I work on CafeHusky 24/7, but I have a few things going on right now too. I appreciate your patience and I will have them to you guys as soon as humanly possible. :D

Well hopefully you DO live and everything is okay with you. It sounds like gas caps should be the least of your worries!

I guess i'm in too - as long as it is cheaper than the OEM billet.

Any chance you guys are looking at some kind of rigid flap to keep muck out of the tank? Every time I have to fill up mi ride, I have to carefully wipe away muck and sediment so I don't get it a) in the threads and b) int he actual tank. What were they thinking? My rear wheel literally BONDS mud to the filler - just a dumb location to have open to the wheel. I have thought about riveting some kind of flexible material to at least keep the bulk of the mess where it belongs - in the fender.

Luckily for us, the fuel must feed into a separate front tank and through a gigantic fuel filter before entering the fuel pump.
