  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc aluminium cone bars mounts / alternative to BRP

Husqvarna
AA Class
I ask again in this part of the forum, because maybe not everybody is reading the general part too.

Does someone know if there is an alternative to the BRP rubber killers ?

Unfortunately, we cannot get them in Europe without excessive shipping costs.

I can get the ones from Zeta, but not sure wich one matches with the shape of the Husqvarna upper tripple clamp.

Thanks in advance

I have a set of the Zeta ones in my KX125 and I think I have a set of BRP ones floating around I can compare them to. I'll check around some time this week.

Thanks, that would be nice.

According to my measurements, the shape of the cone of the original rubbers of my bike is as follows:
larger diameter: 22 mm
smaller diameter: 18 mm
length of the conical part: 11,5 mm

The diameter of the collar is 26 mm and the overall length 15,5 or 15,7 mm, but that is less important, since this part of the rubber insert is outside the upper clamp.

Regards

No go on the Kawasaki ones. The taper is different. (also the center hole is a smaller diameter on the Husky)

Thanks a lot for your feedback, much appreciated!

I asked Zeta about the dimensions of the Honda rubber killers (part number ZE37-0311)

The reply was:
The bolt size is 12mm, Top diameter where goes into top clamp is 23mm.
Another side diameter is 18.3mm, and its height is, including rib is 18.5mm.

So they should not fit the HVA upper clamp as well.

The Zeta cones for Honda fit the HVA triple clamp. They are only a bit higher.

I have some good friends owning a lathe, but I it's not easy to spin a conus.

And the Zeta cones are not expensive.

Do you have conical bushings in the '05?

According to what I know, the HVAs had cylindrical bushings until 2010.

My stock bushings are like the one on the right. I ordered some bushings from a dealer of course they come in and are like the bushings on the left. Got to be some alum bushings out there for another bike that are small and tapered.
