From 20 story tall conifer trees to beautiful river vistas, there are plenty of views in WashingtonState’s Hoh Rainforest to leave you in awe. AltRider has gained special permission to enjoy this beautiful region on August 16th-18th on AltRider’s Hoh Rainforest Ride 2013.
Meet on Friday at the campgrounds atSatsopCenteronWashingtonState’s Olympic Peninsula after a gorgeous ferry trip from downtownSeattleor a beautiful ride around thePuget Sound. As she has the last two years, Mary from the Skokomish Tribe will prepare a delicious dinner of elk stew, Indian fry bread and grilled oysters complimented by a keg of localSeattlebeer.
Wake up to a hearty breakfast scramble and a big cup of coffee on Saturday to prepare for a day full of exhilarating riding along the Olympic National Park. After a riders meeting and brief training seminar with PSSOR and AltRider’s president Jeremy LeBreton, split into groups based on skill level for a GPS-led ride through stunning forests, bridges across vistas and lakes, twisty dirt and gravel roads. Halfway through the day the route brings you back to the campsite for a delicious lunch, then it’s back on the trail for more gorgeous scenery with plenty of opportunities for great pictures. Come back from your epic day of riding to a big dinner back at the campsite and enjoy a few microbrews next to the fire while we have a prize ceremony with special prizes from sponsors ICON, RevZilla, Akrapovic, Trail Tech, and Tour USA Motorcycle Rentals.
On Sunday morning, the smell of coffee and delicious food will once again fill the campsite as you get ready for an adventure ride home. For those who need a little more dirt therapy before heading home, this route offers some of the best terrain the OlympicPeninsulahas to offer, while still taking you back to Highway 101. Make the trek back to civilization as you reminisce about new memories, new friends and new skills.
The $195 price includes:
• 2 nights of camping under the stars
• Epic gps led routes for every skill level in the Olympic National Park, special permission granted to AltRider for this event
• 5 delicious meals prepared by the Skokomish tribe – fresh oysters from the local bay, elk stew, and seafood chowder is on the menu
