• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

anyone have suggestions or information about parts or service? i heard alpinestars resoles them, anyone do this? my soles need done and while my cams are all ok, some of the plastic straps are breaking. the soles are worse than they look as they are de-laminating pretty good. i love these boots and have had em for years, they fit perfect.Photo372.jpgPhoto373.jpgPhoto374.jpg

Yeap my Brother send a pair to Alpinestars a few years back & they came back like new.

thanks for the suggestions, i saw they were being remade, but wanted to keep these. i think theres some miles left, i hope.

those look just like my very first pair of Hi Point boots. just a different design on the shin plate

yeah, they updated the buckles and plates over the years but are very comfy. im going to contact the guys who use sidi soles. not sure what to do about my straps but i guess those could even be made

I have used the Sidi sole guys for years with excellent results. It is a shoe repair shop in Encinitas, CA called Sole Performance. They are on Encinitas Blvd. about 5 miles from where Carlsbad Raceway used to be. Re: your plastic straps, you can get them from Metro Racing. They are the folks who sell new "vintage look" riding gear. The also sell Hi Point boots and boot parts.

as an update, i did order some of the plastic straps from metro racing, their shipping was high at 7 dollars for a small envelop but at just under 20 dollars i got all new genuine alpinestar straps. thanks for the tip! now to get them resoled! the super victory looks similar but i like the "pro gp" hi point look much better.

p.s. the label states buckle strap set type 4 -super victory. 25cife

The Super Victory is the same as the Hi-Point boot from when they went to the cam buckles in '83 or so. The Hi-Points I had in '85 are identical to the current Super Victory except mine were all red. I wish they had colors other than black.

there are some sweet red ones on ebay now, not sure of the size you wear. i see the super v and the hi points are the same, i just kinda like the pro-gp style shin plate. very cool they are available again. im planning on using factory resole for the job.
kartwheel, when you use them do you get the smooth mx style or the trail style? i like the trail having a bit more tread but doesnt look like it has a heel for gripping the peg. your opinion?

WOW! I still have my red ones but they are not as nice as those, they have a LOT of miles on them and they show a lot of wear. I do wear a size 10. :)

Mine have metal latches, the Super V plate, a small oval steel plate on the side that says Hi-Point, but no plastic shifter protection. Mine are exactly like these but in red and with the gaitor at the top like yours.

weird the different variations they all had! mine feel pretty good now with new straps! maybe yu missed my question above but was wondering about which sole to go with.
