• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Airbox lid removal

Hey Clete, you need to remove the bolts holding the rear stays/frame section (not exactly sure what that section is called) and undo the screws/bolts holding the tank. You can then get enough movement up and rearward with the tank to twist the airbox out. It is a bit tight and tricky, just be careful not to snap the airbox breather hose off the bottom of the airbox when lifting out.
Hope this helps without pics.

Cool, thank you! A while back I was changing the oil, and while re-filling, part way into the second quart it overfilled.:( Oil everywhere. THe next day I called Bill's and was taught, in order to get the second quart in the motor over a few times, and then the 2nd quart will go in. So, been working on the bike and discovered the clear tube from the bottom of the air box is filled with oil. Nice!

Have you done the PodMod? If i have the lid off, might as well cut the lid too. Just wondering where to cut it.

I haven't done the pod mod as yet even though I have all the bits sitting there, I have a sheet of uni-filter foam taped over the intake and have split the airbox and sealed it up properley. I find running the oiled pre filter it doesn't seem to run as lean doesn't have that jerkiness down low and my airbox is spotless, not sure whether it actually richens things up- can't see how it can really but I have it running well I dont wanna change things.

I tried pulling the lid, need like three or four hands, didn't want to get to forceful with it.
