  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Aftermarket Gas Cap

Does anyone know if the Tusk Billet aluminum Gas cap
Will fit the stock husky tank on a 2005 TC-250?

I've been checking, but haven't found a crossover for it yet. I did find that the cap for a CRF150F will fit a KDX200/220 and a KLX300 though.:D

Project 321 makes a very nice looking cap for huskys. It's pricey, but super sweet looking.

Suzuki caps fit good, lots of billet ones made for atv's I put one on my 09 wr 300 that was of ltr 450

I got one off ebay that was cheap and works great on my 06 510. Its aluminum with a brass breather and a rubber ring on the inside. No leaks and even was a great fit for my IMS. I just looked and couldn't find it on ebay, though.

The project 321 is nice but a little pricey! thanks for the help everyone! I will have to keep my eye out for something to fit the stock unit.

Ah the kdx! Everything seems to work on those. Should have kept my 1990....
But sold to pay for the husky and have not looked back.... But I will say i rode the heck out of the Kdx for 12 years with no mechanical issues of any kind that bike was bulletproof.

That's why I kept my KDX and sold my EXC. :p

You say this cap you bought fit an IMS tank? Did it fit the stock tank, too? The reason I ask, is because Tusk makes caps to fit IMS tanks and I would like a billet cap to fit my TE450. There is also a Tusk cap for Clarke tanks and I have a Clarke on my KX250. That cap didn't fit my TE though.

It was advertised on eBay as fitted to a 2006 Husqvarna 510 and fit the stock tank great (much better than that stupid crown-shaped cap). When I got the IMS, I stuck it on there on a whim and it turned out to be a perfect fit. I'd hate to say its a definite fit in all situations, but it worked in this particular case. I'll check when I get home, but I think the cap was too small for Troy's 09 TXC, though.
