  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Advice setting up new 13 TXC310

fire1998

Husqvarna
AA Class
Bought a 13 TXC 310 and should be getting it next week. Bike will be used primarily for racing off road events. What items should be addressed first? What gearing gets the most out of the motor? I weigh 195, will stock springs work till I get a revalve next month? Sag setting????? Any problem areas that should be checked? I will be ordering a fuel tank elbow asap.
Thanks

We ran ours completely stock for the first few XC/GP races this year....expect suspension setup for rider. You should be able to get 100mm sag at your weight with the stock springs.

Since then the only performance changes have been a full FMF system and dealer downloaded 'open pipe' map. It ran great stock and runs even harder now.

Change the oil and filters religiously, keep the air filter clean and the bolts and spokes tight.

We are still running Torco Synthetic 10-40 in the 310, but have switched the 511 to Mobil 0w-40. We will likely switch the 310 and 449 also once we use the bottles of Torco on the shelf up.

Interestingly, I also found out that Mobil1 0w40 is now oem specific for Viper motorcycles.

Thanks guys!!
How many hours/miles should I put on the bike before changing the oil for the first time? I also bought a PC racing stainless steel oil filter. Should I put filter in immediately or wait a few hours?
Any idea if my FMF Powercore 4 muffler from my old 10 TC 250 will fit the new 310? My plan is to send suspension to Zipty after I break them in but was wondering if I should buy the Merge racing springs also. I have read some great reviews on them.

A 60 weight oil is pretty heavy and you will get about 75% less bearing separation. The zero weight inital viscosity yields greater flow at start up and through out the warm up stage which will increase engine life. Motul 300V 5w40 is excellent and has less than zero viscosity at warm up.

Just finished my first ride on my 12 te310 gonna do the oil change tomorrow I plan on putting in maxmia oil in it (because i can get a deal on it) just not sure semi/full synthetic or what weight... Anyone using maxima in their bikes? Suggestions?
