As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
we appreciate your work joe, but remember new members likely dont know whats going on..am getting fed up of people stating they are fed up of waiting for approval for a site that is free. just a volunteer her and sorry if my job and family takes up alot of my time. things like this make me just want to stop helping here. really. hear it so much and then am expected to help out someone complaining. what would you do?

several of us have come forward to help, but i think coffee is the only one who can make someone a mod. i have offered several times, as i hate seeing just one or two people doing all the work, and im here all the time. that or im not considered mod material or something..but right now i guess we cannot make new mods.I think Juicypips has a good idea. However, any new moderators must come from long standing active members who have a clean (neutral) slate. By clean I mean not the type to incite argument or take sides. I have always regarded this site as a safe place to pose what to others may appear pretty obvious questions without fear of sniping remarks. I have gained a lot of insight and confidence from fellow residents who have generously helped me out on every occasion.
Joe, have a think about this notion from Juicypips. I completely understand your position, perhaps this will help you too. I know you have been on-board for a very long time and contributed a lot to this site Mate.
Cheers
Glenn.

I haven't heard from coffee now in at least three years. I had emailed him and got no response back. I hear ya.Sorry Joe and I know your stressed because you are one of the only ones left but to blow up on a new guy is wrong blow up on Coffee.....
also, I've emailed and even tried to call the number I had to try to get coffee to no avail.... I'm sure it is dying a slow death when now that Husky is doing good it could be a little cash cow....
Was a blanket statement...not at any new guy. Not stressed. Just folks have to be patient. If I had money for every PM about when is my approval etc, I could buy Husky back from SP and change them from white KTMs.
Nothing is dying. All good. Sometimes the bike may be hard to start so to speak. But once it is running all is fine.

I do live within 20 miles of coffee. I've seen him riding through town twice in the last 3 years. He lives outside of town on some property. Can't really go to his house since there's a gate at the bottom of the hill where he lives. I've thought about it, but would kind of look like a stalker waiting at the gate until he arrives.hell, you live close to him I think.
this is crazy! maybe a letter in his mailbox?I do live within 20 miles of coffee. I've seen him riding through town twice in the last 3 years. He lives outside of town on some property.
