• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Adding the FI map switch - 2010 TE250?

Husqvarna
AA Class
This is in regards to my 2010 TE250.

If one can add a mapping switch that is connected to the bike, would that work with and without having the exhaust sensor connected? As in, if the sensor is connected could you switch between 2 maps, as well as when that sensor is disconnected would you still get 2 maps?

Thanks
Doug

That little switch confuses the best of them...

Sel1 and Sel2 are ignition maps not efi Maps- but the switch only works in power up mode- so you'd have the race mode plug installed in place of the sensor- and removing the sensor from the exhaust system so it does not get ruined. Sel2 has a slightly less meaty responce down low and power completely taper's out at 6000 or 7000 rpms. Its a "wet" map.

Here's a detailed thread on it: http://www.cafehusky.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3092&page=2

So...
  1. Lambda installed and connected (stock) = "stock"
  2. Lambda disconnected & resistor in place = Sel 1 (race)
  3. Lambda disconnected, resistor in place, and dual mode switch installed = Sel 1 (race) or Sel 2 (wet)

are 3 different things and "stock" is not the same as "wet"?

Any chance that some bikes vary depending on intended market (EU vs USA)? For what year does this information apply - 2009? 2008? For all TEs?

While EFI is the wave of the future, it is incredibly easy to re-program them at the factory which will make keeping track of these things incredibly complicated.
