  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Found this on craigslist locally with only 86 miles on the clock. I just had to bring it home to join my CR144.

Already has a FMF pipe and Zip Ty loaded BMW map#3. It takes a couple tries before it cranks but I didn't have any issues with it stalling or flaming out on the test ride or the ride home. It rolled over to exactly 100 miles as I pulled in the garage.

I've already ordered the oil recirculation kit and magnetic oil filter cover for Zip Ty.

I intend to turn it into a motard so I placed an order from Hall's for a SMR kickstand and front fender.

But job #1 will be to clean it and get fresh oil in it. I picked up 5 quarts of 0W40 which should last me a while.

Looks brand new, which I suppose it mostly is. Have fun, can't wait to see the conversion!

Yeah it's pretty clean. It was according to the previous owner about 25% dirt ridden so there are normal scuffs and mud/dirt in the nooks and crannies.

I couldn't help myself, I went ahead and placed the order for the wheels and tires. So much for doing it a little at a time. Went with the Warp 9 set up, couldn't justify the money for Excel rims and talon hubs for what is pretty much just going to be a toy.

So I should have all the parts in about 3-4 weeks as long as nothing was/is on backorder from Hall's. I've got a trip planned to the mountains this summer so hopefully I've got it all together by then so I can take it with me.
