  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

All 2st About the Mikuni/Keihin swap:

I just picked up an '02 CR125 with a Ferracchi 135 kit and would like some advice. I had the same bike a few years back and remember there being a needle that really helped sort out the jetting issues. I was poking around this site looking to see if it was still being used and came across this thread. Would a PWK work as well on the 2002? I was also considering the RB designs divider plate. Whats the best option?
I also see that JD sells the PWK with their jet kit already installed, is this the best route to go if I decide to do the swap?
Thanks

hey gang. I'm having an issue getting my main circuit dialed in. I have a sputter that hits up top, then it revs out like it should. My current setting is an 09 300, pwk, jd red on #2, 40 pilot 1.5 turns and a 168 main.(175 was way to rich 170 did the same, talked to JD and he suggested 168) My recent rides have been 4000-7000ft and between 40-70deg F. It starts 1st or 2nd kick every time. Idles great and runs amazing up until just shy of revving out. It sputters and then gets on with the biz. Any other High elevation 300''s, what are you running? I don't want to lean it too far and fry a piston on a fast section through a sandy wash.
Now with the JD blue #2(how carb came set up), I didn't have that problem up top, but it was way too rich down low. I know the red is richer up top than the blue, but don't feel like a 168 would sputter. Thanks.

Is it more of a sputter or a gurgle , hummm

You can also get the kit from Kelly/Mike @ Motosportz. Actually, the PWK fits better in replacing the old style TMX flatslide. Yes, the RB mods are worth the money. MattR has a jetting post on an 08 Cr125 with the PWK, that'll get you started. You might want to look at Vinduro's post as well and when you go with the bigger bore kits, looks like he is getting good results with a 36 Keihin.

Hi, will the green pwk 38 as (short version) from 04 ktm sx 250 fit the 2006 husqvarna wr 250 or should it be the red one pwk 38 as (long style with plastic cap)? I heard that the short one will not fit the wr 250, because it is not wide enought (from intake manifold to filter). Can you get me some pictures of your pwk installed on wr 250/300. Thanks.
