    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

got a mates wr 400 twin shocker her 84 model. been tidying it up a bit, headstem bearings, cables, fork seals etc etc. to get the bike recreational registered we need headlight taillight and a brake operated light front or back brake doesn't matter.

under the tank was a big bundle of taped up wires..:( ol mate delivered a ktm styled handlebar switch and headed of to the other side of the country to work...:thumbsup:

im no guru with sparks but I worked out which wires were what, (what I thought was what) crimped and soldered some pull apart clips and today I fired her up and bugger me the headlight, hi low beam works, the horn works, the kill switch works and I cant test the brake light as the globe is rolling around inside the tailight but should be ok. I cant believe how easy it was...:)
I take 3 days to wire a 5 pin trailer plug!
 
COOL, it's amazing the old repairs? you see on Vintage bikes.

Chasing Electrical problem is never fun, so it's a win-win :cheers:

I am a self taught wizz with wiring.

In South Aus. we have to have everything including blinkers/mirrors etc.

I bought my 570 from a bloke not too far from you, Andrew Leech from Inglewood.

So the 570 only had a headlight, taillight and horn, luckily the original wiring loom came in a box.

Andrew also gave me some blinkers and mirrors, a good guy!

It was a 1000 Km round trip to pick her up.

I couldn't pass her up, the price was too good, I placed one bid on E-bay and bugger me I won.

I took my English Staffy with me and we stayed overnight in a motel the first day.

I wrapped her in a blanket to smuggle her into the room and out again the next day, she is very patient!

I turned up very early the next morning, there was no one stirring so I waited and as soon as I saw Andrews Dad, I introduced myself.

Andrew was still in bed, I rode and then paid for the bike, we loaded her up and I was back in Adelaide by about 5 o'clock the same

day.

Only stopped so my dog and I could go to the toilet and have a drink, here she is on a pillow so she could see out the front window.

She is camera shy and here she is saying why are you pointing the camera at me?

I worked at Inglewood from 1985 to 1988 then from 2007 to 2011, I know the leeches...hope you took the Minyip shortcut...
 
I used a Suzuki streetbike switch for high/low headlite. I had the SEM ignition with the twin power lighting coils. Used one power yellow wire for the headlight, the other yellow wire for the tail light and stop light.

Nice doggy.
 
Hi Suprise,

I didn't going there, but Andrew and his Dad pointed out how to take the short cut returning, they drew a mud map for me.

It was funny every time I thought I was lost another land mark would appear and I was fully on track, saved a lot of time.

The whole family seemed very nice genuine people.

I used to deliver concrete in Adelaide and as soon as I saw Andrew, I said I have spoken to you before on a job site.

I have a good memory for faces, he said yes he has worked on job sites in Adelaide, I believe it was at the Inghams Chickens site.

What a small world.

Thank you Bill, she is a great dog, really smart and as she gets older, even smarter.

She is just over twelve now and at the moment, as I type she is whingeing as she wants to go for

a walk.

Later she will start whingeing for her lunch and later for her dinner, I don't know how she knows

the time.

I have a pair of whippets who have a body clock like the clock at grenwich....to the second for dinner, 12.00 on the dot to go out for a midnite piddle:mad:
 
Whippets are great dogs, its funny I really only like certain breeds and Whippets are one of them.

I really like how they love to run, it always makes me smile.

My dogs started that malarky, waking me up and wanting to go out late at night.

I fixed them by letting them out, but then they have to stay outside the rest of the night,

bang on the door all you like you little buggers!

I didn't get much sleep but it was worth it.

Only had to do it a couple of times, they soon got the message, they are smart!
