• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I bought my Strada early this year during their runout. Too cheap to say no, since then it’s been gradually mod’ed to make it more gravel/dirt capable.
The smaller & cast front wheel means it’ll never be as comfy or quick offroad as a Terra, but then I’m no Dougie Lampkin either so it's good enough for me  .

A tight budget has kept everything at the cheap & cheerful end of things.

Virginal, on its way home from the dealer -

A top yoke plug ( CatskillBill has had the same idea, seen in his recent post  ) -

Leftover Barkbusters -

Kriega tank bag converted to a camera bag -

SW Motech pegs -

A few little Altrider guards -

A Nomadic rack. Solid ! -

Soft pannier frames made from an old set of road-bike (cycle) bars, which by pure chance fit the Nomadic perfectly  to keep the bags off the pipes -

..... plus a hacksawed set of MTB bars to the back to keep the Andystrapz bags (lined with Heatshield foil tape) from 'drooping'. All attached by fat cable ties -

A 6.6litre Rotopax should see a conservative fuel-range of 500km-ish -

Added a Unifilter and silicone sealed it too (no pics).

Radguard -

Homemade tool tube -

... lashed to a Force bashplate. Not the ideal location for the tube but it'll do for now -

Sealed the rear flap/swingarm with silicone sealant. Minimalist approach; hopefully it’ll work -

To protect the radiator a bit more, modified the existing guard by lengthening it with a piece of cut+molded MTB mudguard, then spray-painted the whole thing black -

Wheels out to fit Karoo3 tyres  -

Now to get it dirty & scratched  .

Still to do.
#1 The seat doesn’t suit my arse (it needs raising & flattening) so I’ll either mod it myself or take it to ACM Seats in Glenroy.

#2 Steel myself, take a stiff drink, then follow glitch_oz’s instructions to coax more brake-line from the bowels of the bike so bar risers can be fitted.
