  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc '96 360, what silencer options?

Will most rangers allow you to pass if no sparky approved num? wasn't sure, I know in CA, everything is so strict here.

Nice that DP could still make you something like that, way cool.

good luck on that in tree huggerville
they even noise checked us one day
i was on an 87 430 full legit sparky silencer, still tested me
tried my brother on an 85 CR500, said it was too loud, he said not true it's an 85
the guy was shocked at how clean an 85 could look, just stared for a few minutes and said,,,,,, 85??
they are out of the lower DB's

Dude, totally. Never quite sure either, and I know those looks that you're talking about. Yeah, feel the same, as long as I can find things to keep this bike sorted and performing well, I'm def happy.

Ok, looks like I'm in. Grabbed a no longer made FMF TurbineCore. Sweeeeet! ...

Not sure there exists any other options here, outside the DynoPort... heck, wonder if Doma still makes something. Be interesting if they did.

Those were the days....oh yeah...I remember reading those catalogs too.

For some reason, I thought I saw that Kelly was selling radiator guards for these on his site a while back....or was it for my 410. Either way, I thought he had some of these....mind might be slipping though. I should ask.

troy, wouldnt it be easier to just lengthen the stinger to what its supposed to be? insteas of messin with that nice silencer? then if you smash the pipe or damage it, you find another and have to cut it as well?

thats do able IDK i might call Rich and see if he can tell me how long the sweged part is welding on that weird plating is a mess and id like to get ride of the rubber mount i like the way premo's is bolted down tight

Not sure the part number, but when I get it next week in the mail, I will report back, along with pics of course. I didn't know they mount up identical all those years?

It's pretty nice when you can get a brand new silencer in the original FMF wrapping when it's not even being made anymore for who knows how long! Part number:

fmf-sa5252

Gotta love Halls!!!

Will post another pic once installed in the next few weeks since working on some other bikes first...
