  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

250-500cc 95 WR 360 clutch lever on the engine very soft - not working - what can it be?

Long story short

reassembled the bike after winter everything was fine....after i put the engine on the frame i started it for maybe 5 minutes...that's all...new oil (motul) in....new electrics...new carb...engine working fine..etc...etc...all was made in neutral...
when I tried to hook the clutch cable I noticed that the cluch lever on the engine which was very stiff and very very hard to pull now is soft and not working....what can it be the problem?

the clutch assembly is new changed last year in august and has like 500 km on it...was working fine before i put the engine on the frame and started it..

please post your ideeas..i will work on the bike the day after tomorrow all day and i need all the help i can get...

Strange thing is that I didn't work at all on the engine...just take out the cluch cover, painted it and put it back...i didn't even touch a screw there..

Could be a fluke just happened at the same time
Pretty sure it is like most huskys and has a cam type shaft not home t look but check the parts list for this

Check the cable ball in the lever move's freely, l had the same sort of symptoms when l changed over to an aftermarket lever, the cable ball and cable was getting snagged between the lever and perch.

problem solved - thank you guys!

on the center of the clutch there is a rod that is pushing the clutch pressure plate through a metall ball. I think they are the original parts from 1995 and in time from the normal usage they shortened and the metal rod slipped from the shaft.
