• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

87 WR430 fuel valve question

Husqvarna
AA Class
Seems these later WRs have only an On/Off tank fuel valve setting. If someone were interested in a three position fuel valve and assuming stock fuel tank retention, what would you do? I'm looking to arrive at an "on/off/reserve" arrangement. Is there a direct bolt on no modification part available for this? And I admit up front to being lazy, the bike is currently down for parts and I've not examined the current set up. Has anyone else done this before? Thanks in advance!

i think there is purdy sure its been cussed n discussed here i wana get my clammy cabbage collectors on one to sumbuddy speak up

the 87-88 bikes came with just on/off for some reason. my 95 has the same petcock only its a 3 position..
just have to buy the right acerbis petcock, believe the 2-bolt pattern is the same on all of them.

Thanks, Troy. Apparently I need to be more creative in my searches; fuel valve, fuel, gas, tank, petcock have all come back with zilch. I'll take it apart and see what options present themselves. Or just wait.... :)

Thanks, Justintendo! My typing skills are lagging behind, Troy is a couple posts up and I was responding to him. May I compliment you on the acerbis information? I'm seeing them new for <$20. Just the ticket!

I put one of these on my WXE 360 and was really impressed with both the ease of tuning and the performance. This one goes on my 87 WR430.

nice, im dancing around the idea of ordering one for my lc430 as well. just a matter of when i decide to alot the funds for it. what rod is shipped with it for the 430?
ive been very happy with the lectron on my 360 since last year. i can say i would never spend money on a different carb for a dirtbike after dialing one in on that bike. they run nice, meter accurately, and are very easy to get dialed.
