• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I've heard of uptite threw this site but never been able to find a website.... now I know why haha. I will look into dynoport and see what I can find

UpTite is George Earl and he visits the site often, old school Husky dealer, i have a few of his pipes, good stuff, he's in Santa Ana Ca as i recall, haven't been there in a while
Dynoport is the new kid on the block, for years they did sleds (snowmobiles) and Husky bikes, i think they do other brands now too

I was just on their website and they do Suzuki, yamaha, husky, ktm, atk and also flat track stuff. My pipe and silencer are in good condition but it's always nice to have an aftermarket pipe and silencer

compared to george, they are newer, but have been doing husky pipes since at least the early 90s. i would like to try one of the uptite pipes tho, they look very sweet. george is a very knowledgeable husky guru for sure, especially with the thumpers!
very cool that george made much of the "husky products" parts during the 80s!

here are a couple of pics of the UpTite pipe on my 87 430, obviously the engine is out but the head pipe is quite smooth in it's transition
pipe fits very well and is slightlyIMG_6826.JPGIMG_6827.JPG tighter than stock for leg clearance

2premo, is there a pretty large difference in size between the stock and the uptite? what about coolant hose clearance?

to be honest i can't remember, been apart too long
but don't recall any issues, but been too long to be quite honest

do you still have that crazy "works" pipe that exits straight up before bending around? that pipe is sweet, would love to find one of those

funny but a really good friend bought the bike it's mounted on, i still see it all the time
he's a lot older than i so typically i also start it for him, kinda like a long term rental
i'm pretty sure it will be back in my garage one of these days

well you let me know if its ever for sale. i wonder why nobody ever routes a pipe like that? seems a good way to get volume, and keeps pipe out of harms way.

fine by me, i thought it had to be cut more than that. where would you even buy these in the day?
