  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I've bought two cages for my 510's from Andy at HVA-Factory.....he's remade them in stainless and they are quality stuff.

part number for K&N??, im told they NLA?? if yopu can give me a number that would be shimples.....was fighting a rear guard action against pneumonia and bronchitis so Harrow was off the agenda, coming good and Blackwood is in the diary.... the filters are different to the 2 smokers with a basic oval shape rather than the triangular section. I see an 80 - 81 maico cage and airfilter fits. might be the simple way or get the HVA one. some options, cheers

I have an HVA 510 cage. It's made from quite thin wire. I am concerned the foam may cut when clamped against the cage by the holder. I will probably braze a flat piece of plate to the cage like Husky do with their two stroke cages to protect the foam filter. The filter is a Maico 81 filter. It is important that you have the rubber boot in good nick with no cracks.

I thought about making up my own wire cage for the foam filters, might give it a go as I have 2 foam filters to play with. I will use a thick wire and also ad a plate where the filter is held in place.

I think these are the ones you want....easy to fit, easy to clean ( the K&N ones are a pain to clean )

Both good quality items and readily available from Andy at HVA.

Having said that he is racing with us in France ( Auroux ) this weekend so you might have to wait a few days for it.

that's it. ive already got two unifilters so I think a bit of clever welding with a big gauge fencing wire, pliers and a hammer will fix it! that's how we fix everything here in aus. or we can shoot it if it wont stop still...
