• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

630 Handguards?

Thanks for the info...also ordered a set today...basically the same setup but went with bottom clamp too and black.

Can you post a picture of how they mount up when you get them installed?

Do handguards that mount to the triple clamps lower the amount of vibrations at the bars?

Got mine installed

Wow, the black looks really good! You've dropped some serious coin on farkles in a short period of time. I'm a couple of farkles behind you. I just got my HDB hand guards In the mail last night. Same set up, except in silver and I got the powerlet top clamp. Very high quality.

Got mine on the other day, looks like they could punch through a brick wall. Do love the black on your bike, I have the white scheme so I couldn't pull it off as well...

I went with white and left the handguards raw AL, for bashing purposes.

contemplated the same thing and after purchasing them feel they may not stay so nice and black anodized.. My Cycra's had a plastic replaceable rub plate on the outter edge that could take some abuse and still look like new if that small plate was replaced.

The all black looks nice. I might go that route since I will be street riding and don't need to worry about wearing the black off as much.

Finally did the install...here are some pics...I think the black all around looks great.

For me those mirrors didn't work out so well. They vibrated too much and because I'm 5'10" the guards needed to be more down to be able to see behind me. I like my guards level with the bar. The mirrors could really use a third axis of adjustment.

Interesting. I'm 5'10" and I don't have that problem.

Got the guards on, the top triple proved to have an additional advantage...

couldn't be more perfect if I dreamed it up

Took my first ride with the handguards...my mirror was rock solid, no vibrations and view was great....on the install I did hove to move the front brake around to accommodate the guard....still very happy with the setup....just need to figure out what I want to to do with the additional space for the switch...I intended to install a button for garage door opener...any other suggestions??

If you're soft like me you could put on some grip warmers. This is my switch, located to the left of the ignition switch below the speedo. The toggle on the left is a high/low setting, the knob/screw further high/low within these main settings.

These are a cheap & cheerful set & struggle in the real cold when you need them the most, but they are certainly better than nothing:

So far, all I've done is the garage door opener. I wired a keychain opener to my battery (12V opener) and to a switch on the top clamp. I can't think of anything else to do, really. I do love the garage door opener.
