• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

630 FMF exhaust, $270?

Chaparral is losing some big money on each one of these they sell. Better pull the trigger fast before they realize their error and double the price.

If you register an account, and stick the muffler in your shopping cart and leave, within a couple of days Chaparral will send you a code to get an additional 10% off. I just bought it for $243, plus tax since I'm in Cali. The code they gave me was "SAVECART150", if you'd like to try that without waiting a couple days.

Just ordered mine. Your discount code worked, $243 shipped!

Thanks for the heads up guys.

13lbs weight savings will exactly offset my Outback rack system...

Just ordered one for my girlfriends SM630. $242 shipped with the discount provided by pinocono. thanks

gave a friend a call with a TE630 and he has one on the way also.

thanks XLenduroman for the tip.

update..
Chaparral called and told me that their delivery from FMF was scheduled for Dec 1. Anyone else get this phone call
after they placed their order?

I got an email from Chaparral that basically made me promise that if I installed this exhaust on my bike I was only going to use it for off-highway use. Never had that happen before, and I've bought plenty of off-highway use parts for both cars and bikes. The parts have always been stamped with "Not Legal for Highway Use" or something along those lines. I know many dealers won't install this stuff on a street bike, but they'll selll you anything over the counter.

The call I received was only to tell me that there would be a 5 week lead time until they got more stock. Order is still good and scheduled
for delivery early December.

5 week lead time, and they've already got my money. Nice racket.

Thank CH member kirbybikes for finding this sale. I took the info from his thread and stated this one.

DYNOBOB, that is good to hear that you got yours today, for a sweet $243! That is awesome!

Got it installed this evening. By my scale it weighed 14-15 lbs less. Bike sounds almost stock at idle but really barks when you crack it. Didn't get to ride it yet but suspect I will be shopping for a quiet insert next. Fit was very good, installed easily.

Where's the pictures. Is the bike running hot or lean?
Any more grunt, common spill the beans.

The FMF has its own midpipe.

Rained all day yesterday, didn't get to ride. Will put on the dyno and play w/ the PC-V when I get time. 50rwhp would be nice...

I'll get some pics.

assuming the FMF exhaust hasn't changed since last year.. here is what it looks like. This was a friend's 630 that had a FMF installed last year. The decals were peeled off the can.

kind of a side by side comparison to my Leo Vince full system on my TE630. The FMF mid pipe seems to tuck in a bit closer to the engine and the end of the can sits up higher than the Leo system at the exit

and the boat anchor on my girlfriend's SM that I will be replacing as soon as the FMF arrives

The hardest part of installing the exhaust was removing the FMF decal and glue. Otherwise simple, loosen the header bolts (ball allen wrench with a 10mm to use as leverage) at the head to get aligned correctly. Slip all the joints together before tightening any bolts.

I also modified the snorkle and airbox cover when I installed the FMF. What a diffrence in the bike, still playing with the JD to get it right.
