• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

630 airbox mod

I see now, thank you for the explanation. So I guess this is one of the reason some folks cut holes in their airbox cover? Just asking out of curiosity, the 610 airbox design and flow is pretty different!

No, I don't think it's the same reason

AFAIK the folks that cut holes in their airbox are looking for more aire entrance capacity than the snorkel provides (and so, probably it ill make the bike accelerate quicker)
On the other side, the "device" that some folks (like me) put into their airbox try to guarantee 2 things:
-First, that all the air that enter throuout the snorkel can spreed all over the air filter surface
-Second, to avoid that filter foam expansion around the snorkel area can restrict or decrease the aire entrace.

By snorkel I mean the pipe screwed to the air box

Breaking news :D

This pic is from the Superdual owner's manual. So we were right making what we have made

http://www.powerhousemotorcycles.com.au/partFinder/fiche/swm/2018/superdual-t#component

it seems that the grid adopted by the superdual 2018 can not be sold separately but is included in the complete filter case.
moreover, we have no certainty until today that a superdual 2018 filter case is 100% compatible with that of TE

What a pity...

But above all, the good point about it is that we were right with our modifications... and this has inspired SWM to make the Superdual grid :busted:
