    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

610 and 630 fuel tanks the same?

Does anyone know whether these tanks are interchangeable? Given the limited supply and expense of aftermarket desert tanks for the 630, it would be swell to find out that the 610 aftermarket tanks actually will fit the 630. Do they share the same part number?

While we're at it, a list of 610/630 interchageable parts would be ideal. Anything like that exist at Husky HQ?
 
The Safari tanks are the same EXCEPT that the fuel pump mounts in a different location. Depending on which one you order it looks like they knock out the appropriate hole. (I havent mounted one, just saw them side by side.)

There's more to it than just a different mounting location for the fuel pumps. The 610 pump has six mounting bolt holes and the 630 has five.....so the fuel pumps are different. My buddy has an EFI 610 with the Safari tank and I put a Safari on mine as soon as there was one available. Spendy, yes - but worth the price if you plan on having the bike for a while.
 
I'm hoping for a closeout price sale like Husky had for the 630, I don't want to ride with that tank 90 % of the time.

It looks huge and imposing with it's slab-sided enormity.... but it's quite narrow and easy to ride with in technical spots - provided it's not full :D
I thought at first I might change back and forth to the stock tank, but there's not much benefit if you think the big tank will be in your way - it won't be.

When partially full (3-4g) it carries it's weight low and forward, and the bike handles as good as ever.

and as far as a closeout price on an Aqualine tank.... don't hold your breath. They can be had with a 5% discount, which is a help - but they're a cut above your average IMS or Clarke tank and a quality piece. If you want range to make the bike a good Baja sled, or something that'll take you to Prudhoe Bay without fuel worries - it doesn't seem that expensive.

And the pump mounting shape is different, one is round, the other oblong, but both mounting bosses are in the tank, only one pump hole is drilled out ... I suppose if someone enterprising wanted to mess with their $800 tank they could punch out the other hole and make a block off plate for the unused one, then it would interchange. Not recommending it, just noting the apparent option to do so.
