    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

511 Clutch guard?

Hey guys,

I recently lost the balck plastic guard that covers the clutch slave cylinder, and i'm looking for a replacement.

I've seen this one from Force- https://forceaccessories.com.au/husqvarna-clutch-cover-table/ While it looks nice, i'm not really in a position to spend that much money.. and i'm in the US. So shipping would be even more.

Does anyone have any other solutions that might be better than simply ordering the stock black plastic piece again?

I'm having a hard time figuring this out, but is it possible that the 511 uses the same clutch slave as one of the KTM or other bikes that have readily available slave guards? like the ones available from https://shop.enduroeng.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?search=action&category=13_1 or whoever.
 
I don't reckon there would be any other bikes with the same cover.
The te449/511 is fairly unique with its clutch on the crankshaft.

The Force parts are good quality, but if budget doesn't stretch that far, try Hall's cycles in the US for the original replacement part.
 
I have the force piece and can attest to its quality and will help prevent you from pushing your brake pedal through the clutch cover (which I did when I came around a blind corner and hit a boulder). It is expensive though...
