    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I have read a lot of threads concerning this fork leaking. I thought I would let you know how I solved the problem with my forks.The first thing I noticed when I pulled my forks apart was movement in the fork that leaked the most the bushes seemed OK but fitted new ones.I got these from MX-Special-parts in Germany they were easy to deal with fast postage to Australia $80.00 with postage.This removed most of the play but not all.I think the machining tolerances are not great on these forks this explains why one fork was more troublesome that the other.The next thing I did was shorten the spring on oil seal and dust seal this is easy to do just find the join and unscrew it like a threaded bolt cut 3mm off and screw back together.This mod does not seem to affect fork operation.Also when adding oil to fork I put the spring spacer in first and filled to 120mm from top I use 5wt.So far no problems forks work well with no leaks.I hope this helps others with similar problems.One last thing I have heard you can super clue some 1or 2 thou shim under the bush to reduce play.I tried coke can but it is 4-5 thou and was too thick.Huskys are great bikes when well taken care of and you know what can go wrong.

Just an update on my forks still no leaks.Having said that the fork that still had some movement feels not quite as dry as the other side so if i shim the bush on that side to take out the movement completely I feel the leaking will be solved.I just need to find the right size shim.I also turned the bar mounts around makes a big difference on tight trails.The bike is really going well at the moment too nearly got 5000km on it.
 
Still another update on forks still no leaks. Have not been riding in mud though this might change things but at the moment its all good.just recently I installed a 6kg race tech rear spring this has made a dramatic difference to handeling so much smoother in all conditions that I ride in!
 
Hi just did another upgrade to suspension fitted a 6.5kg rear shock spring racetech worth every penny best the bike has ever felt to ride I weigh 94kg. Boy it took time to sort this bike out but now it surprises a lot of people how well it goes and handles for 2008 model just goes to show you dont always have to have the latest and greatest. Thats not to say I wouldn,t have a new fe450 if I could afford it they are good.
