  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

50mm marzocchi fork Launch device?

Anyone have a company that make a Launce device that is large enough to fit on the 50mm forks on the lower lands on the fork? Works makes one but it is only large enough to mount on the upper land and then they are hard to latch in. An suggestions?

the three land sizes from top to bottom area about

1- 55.50mm
2- 60.50 mm
3- 66.50mm

I've found one and I've ordered mine so here's the part#

8000B1530 ~$72

I dug that up from the SMR450RR parts fiche, Jeff at Halls said they'll fit the 50mm 'zokes on the 511.

I was looking for one when I first got my 449. I had a extra one for my 2009 TC450 that I used on my TC449. Its the exact same fork guard so that wasnt a issue and the ring that you clamp to the fork fits on the upper part of the fork, probably 55.5mm.IMG_20121213_170430.jpg

yeah I have one of those for my 48mm KYB forks as well but I don't what it that high on the fork. Pain in the but to latch. The lower lands make it easier since the stick out a bit further.

Yes, it is hard to get latched by yourself. One the upside, if traction is pre-mo you can launch at a much higher rpm!

I've got a brand new holeshot device from my 09' cr125 (w /50mm closed chambers Zokes) sitting in the garage. Never used.
Pm me if anyone is interested as I'll sell it for 1/2 price from new.

Mate have you installed this one yet?

Still waiting on it, as with all OEM husky bits, it takes forever. I'll put up pics on SMA (brembo over there) when I get it on there. Waiting on black plastics too.

Sweet thanks - seems like I just have to find one that would fit the older SMR's and away i go?

They all use the same forks (along with alot of the older TC's etc) so they should fit, finding anyone that makes them for said forks is the hard part.

That's for pitbike size forks afaik, I think XTrig are now making one that might work, and someone else who's name escapes me.

EDIT: Hoping I get mine in the next couple of weeks before I get my forks resprung, I'm not a fan of taking the forks off, let alone having to do it a third time.
