  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Threads started in this new forum will have a 'blue' prefix titled: FE/FC.

That is so we can correct any misplaced threads i.e. often people will click on 'Whats New' and not ever realize if it is mis-placed - cause an Italian TE250 (4st) is *completely* different from an Austrian TE250 (2st).

And remember: these is the area to discuss technical things about the bikes. News/rumors and all the other stuff can go elsewhere.

Article in today's (UK) Motorcycle News titles ' Husqvarna's Road Bike U-Turn. Three 'new' concept bikes slated for launch at the Milan (Italy) show next week. MCN reckon one bike will be a big Supermoto (based on Nuda?) whilst others may use the factory MOTO3 bike as a basis. The photo in the article is of a bike clearly based on the TR650 but with a steel (alloy?) tank, reduced plastics, new headlamp and instruments and new silencers. The frame, engine & suspension, cooling etc. are TR650.
Perhaps we will be able to order parts for current bikes now?

I am new to Cafe Husky. Bought a new 2015 fe501s and it has an engine knocking noise that I did not notice at the dealer at time of purchase. The noise all but disappears when I disengage the clutch. Took back to dealer for fork warranty, and I expressed my concern about the engine noise. They said they would contact Husqvarna and call me back. When they called me back, they said Husqvarna told them that the bikes do make a little engine noise. This is not a little engine noise, this is a loud knock. Is this really normal?
