• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC 4CS Issues

Do it like motosportzsays Mn to I'll forks and shock around $50.00 with $2000 insurance......if your bike is dangerous and not predictable at high speed factor in one trip to the emergency room or possibility of a halo around your head for six months .....if its under a hundo who cares..... I hope these 4cs forks are OK. My god seems like there are so many different opinions on these forks ....

I have a very good suspension shop (MX Tech) locally who seems to have the 4CS sorted very well but I wanted to try ZipTy this time so hence the shipping questions. I know it will be several hundred to have the suspension serviced and revalved. I've done it on every bike I've owned and consider it a must do to fully enjoy the performance. It doesn't help that I'm really tall and 250lbs in gear....

thanks chums . looks like ill be sending them out when the bike comes. im going to ride the bike first and see what there doing but ill have to send them out anyway. 215lb 6.2 so im going to need them done up for my weight and riding( top b speed slow A as of now.

You're a fast A rider now seeing as you smoke me so easy. LOL. I road Sean's at Tuxedo Ridge in a rock garden just quick but thought the forks were not bad for a stock brand new bike. Not as good as our red Huskies but good at 2nd and 3rd gear nasty stuff. Call Drew. They are ice riding today up in Hunter BTW.

Rode with a guy with a brand new 2015 KTM 250XC yesterday. Rough slower slick technical ganr. Asked him how he liked his forks... said they were fine. He really liked the bike and was going good on it.

Mine were good for about 15 hours. After that there was little dampening. Then they fell apart. Fingers crossed they work as good as the 2012 forks when I get them back.

For what its worth the first couple of rides on mine (late 2014 TE300) and they were good. After about 6-7 hours it started feeling like the front was almost rigid at times. I set the sag to 100mm and centered the clickers. Played with the clickers some but more often than not the front end would seem scary harsh, wanting to climb out even on straight trail with a little trash. Never knew what to expect. I have never had the crap scared out of me or a complete loss of confidence as I've had with this bike. I then set sag to 110mm and 38 static with the rebound 15clicks out and rebound at 20 clicks out. Also replaced stock (Dunlop MX51) front tire with new(in storage) Dunlop D756. The ride is better and the front sticks but I still don't have a lot of confidence. I have not rode it more than about 2 hours with this set up so it may get better with more ride time. I will play with the clickers a little more to see if I can get the set up better. Hopefully that will work until I can get them off to ZipTy for a proper fix.

He said his were making a weird clicking noise inside :excuseme: Told them I had heard of a recall but did not think it was for 2015 bikes. Is that click normal?

I was told a slight clicking sound is normal. It is hard to hear but on the rebound stroke it clicks. When I talked to Jeremy Wilke he said it is normal. A buddy of mine has a new 1190 and his was making a loud clicking and it turned out something inside was damaged. It may be hard to tell the difference between normal and damaged though.:excuseme:

I would take the forks apart and see if the dampening rod is still tight against the cap. My 2015 fell apart in the middle of nowhere Moab. I took it apart in the parking lot at the hotel, but the damage was already done.

What does my package have to do with this?
This is getting great!! Mail the things out already!!! Some suspension shops will even mail you a box!! Its killing me to ride my bike and the forks have already been revalved...part of me says throw the brand new forks on ebay....anyone know where there is a used set of 48mm marzocchi s???? You know red with a big made in Italy decal would be nice as well...... They probably go right in those triple clamps...this bike better feel safe...word on the street I hear is if you have a steering dampner its all good....

That's not been what I've found with my Scotts stabilizer, if I crank it up its better but not great. I also set my clickers with my stabilizer completely off the bike so it won't mess with what I'm feeling!

Sorry I was more or less referring to the more nervous chassis then its Italian counterpart not the effects of what could be a fork causing problems...

Damper not gonna fix anything just cover it up.... ktm/husky anywhere other than southwest shouldn't need one
