  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Having a 450te on an 09, I have done the full power conversion, my question is, would it be better to re-fit the lanber sensor to improve fuel consumption? Will this be noticeable. would this also improve the fueling when just trying to tick over on tricky terrain, times when it causes it to stall, or do i need to change the gearing? qalot of questions for the exsperienced from the confused, thanks.

(based on readings and reports and my bike) it varies- but most would say it will run best in Power Up mode. It may also be slightly rich in power up mode- which can be tuned better with Ibeat by someone who knows how- or you with trial and error. It seames with NON powered up bikes "Closed Loop" (keeping the 02 sensor hooked up) that the bike will run lean- Especially if you took out the restrictions. Will it get better Miles/KM per gallon Yes but performance will suffer.
the bike was made to run one of the 2 ways not half way or a mix- you'd have to experiment and make unique adjustments with Ibeat to make it work right-in "Closed Loop" but unrestricted.

Best seams to be in Power up mode- and making proper Ibeat Adjustments to meet the needs of the bike: adjusting CO1, CO2, and CO3.

I want my bike to run perfectly- I don't think about gas usage- to a point they go hand in hand- but a 30 horse power motor that does not get pushed is going to use less gas than a 50 horse power motor that gets pushed hard. I like to twist the throttle even if I am not "a fast guy"
