  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

449/511 rear foor pegs

I'm looking to put a set of rear pegs on my 2011 SM 511 (converted from a TE). I noticed at Bill's that the 2012 SMR511's come factory with rear foot pegs. So we looked it up and for all the 20 something pieces you need, it comes to about $230.

Does anybody know of any other less expensive options? Or know of anyone wanting to get rid of the rear pegs on their 2012 SMR511?

Any help would be appriciated!

TOM

I have a complete set of passenger pegs I'd sell. They have never been used. I took them off my new 2011 SMR the day I picked it up from the dealer.

Found them on a schematic, they look simple to make.

These look pretty good, there's a video on you tube of them in action,I am considering getting a pair, but may make some that attach to the frame in the traditional way as the ankle looks a little vulnerable to moving parts with these clip ons

I have the crossplus pegs and they work great with the wife on the back of the 511. They take about 10 seconds to install/remove which is a plus IMO

Does anyone have a set of passenger pegs for one of these bikes you’re willing to sell? I like the oem style buddy pegs. Let me know! Thanks.
