• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

400/410/610 series Sachs Shock absorbers Comp adjuster position?

robertaccio

Husqvarna
Pro Class
I'm fairly certain they are all Sachs I've been seeing. (Maybe Showa on mine?)

Mine on my US model TE610 has the HSCD and LSCD adjusters on an angle part of piston/reservoir. LS is a small straight slot screw and HS is the outer large knob that can be hand turned.

I have seen other shocks (on Ebay) including in my owners manual as well as in the 99 parts catalog with a (blue anodized) star type double adjuster vertically on top of the piston/reservoir .

On Ebay there is 2002 shock listing and its the same as mine, with the angle point comp adjuster.

Does anyone know what the deal is? I am still looking into the older and newer parts catalogs to see if maybe my machine has a later model shock on it.

I got it after downloading all the parts manuals from Zupin Germany
98-2000 all have the top adjuster for comp Sachs shock
2001, 02 and on (570) has the angle comp adjuster for easy access
So my 1999 has at the oldest a 2001 TE570 rear Sachs shock on it.

anyone know if the overall shock length is the same? I may purchase one of the top comp adjuster ones off Ebay as a parts shock for my suspension guy to work with.

adding to this thread I just bought the older series shock with vert comp adjuster because it was only 100 bucks. Do any of you know ups and downs about the older series shocks? I will use it as a mule with my suspension tech.
